Bottlefeeding Blues

I had some trouble getting Micah to take a bottle in the beginning, in part due to congestion and also because the mums put a huge hole in the nipple so the milk/porridge combination they put in will flow out, so it's like drinking out of a firehose. I now have him taking formula with the bottles I brought and it's gotten much easier.

But I have to say, bottlefeeding is SO much harder than breastfeeding! Good grief! Washing bottles, warming them, mixing it, often while the baby is crying because he saw the bottle and wants it NOW! And remembering to pack it to take with me every time we go somewhere in case he might want it. Admittedly, it would be easier if I had a dishwasher, but breastfeeding is still so much simpler. Not to mention that formula is really expensive!

After so many years of nursing, several times I have started to lower him into the nursing position and started to put my hand in my shirt to unclasp my bra before remembering that's not what I'm doing. For me, it's just such an instinct.
